The Red River Gorge Climbers’ Coalition (RRGCC) is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization, established in November 1996, with the mission of securing and protecting open, public access to rock climbing in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky, while promoting environmental conservation where climbers enjoy these landscapes. The RRGCC owns and maintains over 1,800 acres across multiple preserves, including: Preserve Acreage Notables & Routes PMRP ~750 acres Hundreds of routes MFRP ~309 acres Hundreds of routes BRRP ~102 acres Motherlode, Chocolate Factory CFRP ~New, ~718 acres Expands climbing footprint CRP ~32 cliff faces ~160 routes RRGCC’s motto sums it up nicely: “If we own it, they can’t close it.” The coalition has several fun events throughout the year including Johnny & Alex Trails Days, Rocktoberfest, and many clinics!
